Walthamstow: where are the classes held?
Our Walthamstow antenatal classes are held at The Bell pub, on Forest Road, which is close to Walthamstow Central station and which is easily accessible by bus. There is parking available close by too.

Who runs the classes?
Meet Anneka.
Anneka is one of the midwives who teaches our Walthamstow antenatal classes. Anneka graduated in 2015 from City University and now works as a Birth Centre Midwife. She has two children and when not hanging out with them in playgrounds and museums around London loves to travel and swim.
She says ‘I can’t wait to meet you all and welcome you on the course. There’s lots to go through but lots of opportunities for you all to get to know each other too and build an amazing support network’.
Meet Jeni.
Jeni is one of the midwives who teaches our Walthamstow antenatal classes. Jeni graduated as a Midwife with a first class honours degree from City University, London in 2015 and currently works for a busy East London Trust as a Specialist Midwife. She has a particular interest in Antenatal and Newborn Screening. Jeni has two girls aged 3 and 6 and enjoys swimming and cycling with her family at weekends. She says “being able to support families to feel prepared and informed at such an important time in their lives is really special. Building a support network is absolutely invaluable and I’m really looking forward to getting to know you and supporting you through the HPHB course.”
How does this differ to NCT classes in Walthamstow?
The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.
The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.
Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes in Walthamstow are priced at £369, compared to £259 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Walthamstow take place at Peter House Centre, whereas our classes take place at The Bell pub so you can relax and make the most of socialising with your course mates.
Our local Walthamstow community
Most of the people coming on our Walthamstow course are from Walthamstow. The course is also popular with those living in neighbouring areas of Chingford and Tottenham.
From walks in Lloyd Park or in Walthamstow Village, to coffee shop hangouts and playdates at each other’s houses, graduates from our Walthamstow antenatal classes are never short of things to do together.
