Surbiton & Kingston: where are the classes held?
Our Surbiton and Kingston antenatal classes take place in the private room at The Antelope on Maple Road which is close to Surbiton station.

Who runs the classes?
Meet Jemma.
Jemma is one of the midwives who teaches our Surbiton and Kingston antenatal classes. Jemma qualified as a midwife in 2016 from Keele University. Since then she has worked at a busy central London hospital rotating in all areas of maternity including caseloading, supporting families throughout their journey from pregnancy, birth and with baby. She splits her work in the community and as a trust quality improvement fellow.
In her spare time, Jemma enjoys walking her dog, Melba - she also enjoyed beekeeping! She says “I love watching families develop and grow, providing them with reassurance and confidence and making a positive difference. As a course host, I enjoy seeing friendships form and empowering families about their pregnancy, birth and beyond.”
How does this differ to NCT classes in Surbiton & Kingston?
The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.
The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.
Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes in Surbiton and Kingston are priced at £369, compared to £259 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Surbiton and Kingston are held at the Surbiton Hill Methodist Church, whereas our classes take place at The Antelope so you can relax in lovely surroundings and make the most of socialising with your course mates.
Our local community
Most of the people coming on our Surbiton and Kingston course are from Surbiton and Kingston. The course is also popular with those living in neighbouring areas of New Malden, Worcester Park and Chessington.
From walks along the River Thames, to coffee shop hangouts and playdates at each other’s houses, graduates from our Surbiton and Kingston antenatal classes are never short of things to do together.
