Our Notting Hill antenatal classes take place in the private room of the Elgin pub on Ladbroke Grove which 2 minutes walk from Ladbroke Grove station.

Who runs the classes?
Meet Yvette.
Yvette is one of the midwives that teaches our Notting Hill antenatal classes. Yvette has been a midwife since 2012 after training at the University of West London. She has worked across most of maternity services. With much time spent leading a midwife-led Birthing Centre team, and developing continuity of care pathways in Homebirth and Socio-complex case-loading teams. Yvette now works in Maternity leadership as a Matron, but continues to incorporate clinical care, and provide education through HPHB. She has a special interest in holistic massage in pregnancy, aromatherapy and postpartum care/support.
Yvette says: “Childbirth preparation is a continuous, evolving process and this is why I love being able to support parents and families to prepare for such a pivotal moment in your lives on this course, alongside the team of specialist colleagues.”
How does this differ to NCT classes in Notting Hill?
The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.
The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.
Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes near Notting Hill are priced at £369, compared to £259 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes close to Notting Hill are held at Askew Road Church or Queens Gate House whereas our classes take place at the Elgin pub so you can relax and make the most of socialising with your course mates.
Our local Notting Hill community
Most of the people coming on our Notting Hill course are from Notting Hill and Ladbroke Grove. The course is also popular with those living in neighbouring areas of Bayswater, Westbourne Park, Latimer Road, Queensway and Kensington.
From walks in Holland Park, catching the latest release at the Electric’s baby-friendly screenings or enjoying a coffee and a potter around the abundance of independent shops and cafes, graduates from our Notting Hill antenatal classes are never short of things to do together.
