Who runs the classes?
Meet Amy.
Amy is one of the midwives who teaches our Hitchin antenatal classes. Amy graduated in 2010 from Hertfordshire University and is currently a senior midwifery lecturer. She's a busy mum of two boys and in her spare time enjoys spending time with family, walking her two Labradors and cooking. She says “I really look forward to meeting you on the course and supporting you through your journey!”
How does this differ to NCT classes in Hitchin?
The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.
The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.
Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes in Hitchin are priced at £299, compared to prices from £199 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Hitchin are held at Mrs Howard Memorial Hall, whereas our classes take place at Kite At The Red Hart pub where you can relax and make the most of socialising with your course mates.
Our local community
Most people on our Hitchin course are from Hitchin. The course is also popular with people living neighbouring areas of Ickleford, Graveley and Letchworth Garden City.
From walks in the local nature reserves and trips to local farms, to hangouts in the coffee shops and at each other’s houses, graduates from our Hitchin antenatal classes are never short of things to do.
