Colchester: where are the classes held?
Our Colchester antenatal classes are held at the George on the High Street. There’s plenty parking in Colchester town centre with Colchester Park just a walk away with its stunning views.

Who runs the classes?
Meet Abbi.
Abbi is one of the midwives who teaches our Colchester antenatal classes. Abbi became a midwife in 2013 and has worked in a variety of roles during this time including labour ward co-ordinator and continuity of carer midwife. She currently works in both the community and hospital settings and enjoys the variety of this working pattern. Abbi has several creative hobbies including sewing and baking, and loves spending time in the garden with her daughter. She says "I am looking forward to meeting you all, and helping you to feel prepared and empowered for birth and parenthood"
How does this differ to NCT classes in Colchester?
The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.
The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.
Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes near Colchester are priced at £269, compared to £199 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Colchester take place at the Kingsland Church, whereas our classes take place at the George so you can relax and make the most of socialising with your course mates.

Most of the people coming on our Colchester course are from Colchester. The course is also popular with those living in the neighbouring areas of Wivenhoe, Alresford and Brightlingsea.
