Who runs the classes?

Meet Lizzie.

Lizzie is one of the midwives that teaches our Chelsea and Fulham antenatal classes. Lizzie qualified in 2017 as a midwife. She has worked across three large maternity units on London and now heads up a community and birth centre team at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington. She has a special interest in an active labour approach and has undertaken two spinning babies courses. Lizzie says: "I am passionate about helping to empower families with the tools for them to make their own decisions regarding their pregnancy and birth.”

How does this differ to NCT classes in Chelsea & Fulham?

The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.

The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.

Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes in Chelsea and Fulham are priced at £369, compared to £259 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Chelsea and Fulham are held at Dawes Road Hub community centre, whereas our classes take place at the Lillie Langtry pub so you can relax and make the most of socialising with your course mates.

Our local community

Most of the people coming on our Chelsea and Fulham course are from Chelsea and Fulham in west London. The course is also popular with those living in neighbouring areas of West Brompton, Earl’s Court and Parson’s Green.

From walks in Bishop’s Park or along the River Thames, to coffee hangouts at St Clements or Hally’s and playdates at each other’s houses, graduates from our Chelsea and Fulham antenatal classes are never short of things to do together.

Is it worth it?

“We did so much research and are so glad we found Happy Parents Happy Baby. It really is the best course out there - with hypnobirthing and first aid included - it covers so much and also helps you meet likeminded people going through the same things at the same time as you.”

Charlie and Goergie, July course
