Who runs the classes?

Meet Sofia.

Sofia is one of the midwives who teaches our Primrose Hill and Camden antenatal classes. Sofia qualified as a midwife in 2019 from London City University at Homerton Hospital. She has worked across all maternity wards and currently supports postnatal women and families in the community once they’ve gone home from the hospital. Sofia says: “The most important tool through pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period is information and knowledge - I want to empower you by giving you all of that knowledge.”

How does this differ to NCT classes in Primrose Hill & Camden?

The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.

The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.

Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes in the Camden area are priced at £369, compared to £259 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Camden take place at Camden School for Girls, whereas our classes take place at the Princess of Wales pub so you can relax and make the most of socialising with your course mates.

Our local Primrose Hill & Camden community

Most of the people coming on our Camden course are from Camden and Primrose Hill. The course is also popular with those living in neighbouring areas of St John's Wood, Regent's Park, Swiss Cottage and Marylebone.

From walks on Primrose Hill, to coffees together at the market or head to one of the many baby classes close by, graduates from our Primrose Hill and Camden antenatal classes are never short of things to do together.

Is it worth it?

“Truly brilliant course. Couldn’t wish for better. Feel so much more empowered about birth and looking after baby having been on this course. The resources you’re given afterwards are great too. Excellent value for money! Thanks guys”
