Who runs the classes?

Meet Kate.

Kate is one of the midwives that teaches our Marlow antenatal classes. She is an experienced midwife having worked through all areas of the maternity unit including a wonderful year on the homebirth team. Kate has also qualified as a Health Visitor who specialises in the health and development of children from birth to 5 years old. She has a wealth of experience around pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period and loves to meet and get to know new families. She believes woman-centred care and informed choice is key to a positive experience and helps to empower families to ensure they have the information to do this. To add to this, Kate has become a mum herself and says her son Reuben has taught her so much about parenthood already!

How does this differ to NCT classes in Beaconsfield?

The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.

The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.

Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes in Beaconsfield are priced at £299, compared to prices from £199 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Beaconsfield are held at Forty Green Community Hall, whereas our classes take place in the private room of Beech House so you can relax and socialise with your course mates.

Our local Beaconsfield community

Most people on our Beaconsfield course are from Beaconsfield. The course is also popular with people living neighbouring areas of High Wycombe, Hazelmere, Gerrard’s Cross, Chalfont St Peter, Chalfont St Giles, Woburn Green, Loudwater and Slough.

Is it worth it?

“We enjoyed every minute of our Happy Parents Happy Baby course. We’ve made an amazing group of friends and felt so supported by the team every step of the way. Thank you so much HPHB.”
